About
Russ Moore has been influenced by art since he was a child. Born in 1974, his affinity toward drawing began at an early age. Constantly drawing and painting throughout high school, he pursued graphic design at the University of Central Florida where he graduated and took a job art directing magazines in Orlando, Florida. He continued in that field for ten years before moving with his family to Austin, Texas to pursue his passion of designing and producing serigraph art prints. There he he took quickly to the art world, selling out his first two prints in a matter of hours thanks to a devoted fan base.
Russ draws inspiration for his work in everything from his awesome children to his youth spent reading comics and playing video games. He strives for simple yet powerful emotional imagery that elicits a gut reaction in the viewer echoing a sentimental nostalgia from long ago.
Some of Russ’ group exhibitions include In the Garage: Art Celebrating Geek Culture at Blank Space Gallery, Milford, CT.; Dead Rockstars, Ltd. Gallery, Seattle, WA.; 3NES, When the Lights Go Out ( 1, 2 & 3 ) and Turtles in Time at Bottleneck Gallery, Brooklyn, NY. In addition, Russ participated in a trio show at Bottleneck Gallery in September of 2014 where he debuted 24 new 1980s action figure prints.
Russ currently lives near Charlotte, NC where he runs Great Unknown Publishing.
